Marie Captain
Founder of the Theatre Arts Workshop. Marie has directed school, community, and regional theatre for over 30 years. She has directed musicals at the Emelin Theatre and stages reading at the West Side Arts Theatre. She directs The Contemporary Theatre Arts Workshop in Armonk, NY, and teaches piano, guitar, voice and computer music. She musically directed the Off, Off Broadway production of "The Wonderful Story Of the Babes In The Wood", and 3 songs she composed were featured in it. Marie has also composed the music for "My Poppa", "Rosalita", "Revelations", "Dick Whittington", "Princess", "Velveteen Rabbit" and "Canterville Ghost" which was presented at Sun Flower Productions in Milford, PA. Spring ‘05 Marie wrote script, music and directed “RAMA” performed in Tarrytown, NY. In her spare time, Marie's completed a degree in Parapsychology, continues to study holistic health and energetic healing, is a Reiki Master, is now a Certified Feng Shui consultant, and is writing a book.
Lisa Jordan
Lisa has been performing since the age of three. She has and continues to appear in a variety of shows in regional theaters, summer stocks and off Broadway. Some of her favorite and most notable performances are “Cabaret”, “Camelot”, “Fiddler on the Roof”, “South Pacific”, and “Annie Get Your Gun”. She is currently busy with voice-over work, teaching private voice lessons, private self-defense coaching, and party performing. Lisa Jordan is a Reiki Master and Certified Feng Shui Consultant. She is currently in the midst of writing a book on Feng Shui. Lisa is very proud of her CD, "The Mystery of The Box in The Attic," a narrative story put to classical music for young listeners- produced by Helicon Records.
Jorge Lopez
Jorge has extensive theater training. His favorite roles that he has played are the Tin Man from the WIZARD OF OZ, Roger from RENT, Horton from SUESSICAL, Chino from WEST SIDE STORY. Jorge has appeared in many theatrical shows in the New York area. He has also appeared in TV commercials, print work, and films. He has done voice-over work for Verizon and McDonald’s. When not on stage Jorge has much experience with lighting, sound, and stage management. In addition to enjoying teaching, he enjoys surfing, skydiving, and horseback riding.
Leah Terry
Leah has been teaching all styles of dance, ballet, b’way, jazz, funk, hip hop, and tap for the past 10 years. She has taught all levels form beginners to advanced students. She has performed with various dance companies such as the Signature Dance Company, Hip Hop Kidz Westchester Professional Performance Co which was seen on the TODAY SHOW, the MACY’S THANKSGIVING PARADE, and the TONY DANZA SHOW. She has choreographed a variety of shows and in addition to teaching she enjoys dancing, gymnastics, rollerblading and acrobatics.
Susan Mondaruli Siegel
Sue has performed in many musical theatre productions throughout the region. She was most recently seen in the Workshop’s GODSPELL production. She has appreared in the regional premiere of I LOVE YOU BECAUSE. Her other favorite roles include Golde in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, Aldonza in MAN OF LA MANCHA, Gypsy in GYPSY, Petra in LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, Velma in CHICAGO, Sr. Amnesia in NUNSENSE and Anita in WEST SIDE STORY. Sue has also performed as a guest soloist with the Haifa Symphony Orchestra in Israel and with the Orchestra de Lille in France. I june 2011 Sue debuted her Cabaret Show at the Duplex in New York City. Sue is thrilled to be part of the teaching staff and is looking forward to sharing her excitement and joy of performing with the students.
Denise Burke
Denise has been dancing since the age of 3. Her concentration has been in jazz, ballet, and theatre. She has studied and performed with Destiny Dance International now know as Bricks Studio in Phoenix, Az and participated in the first “ Gotta Dance” week at Canyon Ranch Tucson, Az. Denise performed in CHICAGO and HAIRSPRAY. She currently teaches ballet and is assisting in dance at the Theatre Arts Workshop. She is also teaching Drama at the Workshop. Denise is certified in elementary education, has a Masters in Educational Technology, and a BS in Business Finance.
